About Sally Somerton

Welcome to the world of Sally Somerton.

Sally lives on Faial Island in the Azores Archipelago with her husband and their two delightful Portuguese Water Dogs.

Sally writes from a life shaped by the seasons, the challenges she has met, along with her strong connection to nature, and a quiet refusal to settle for anything that feels too small.

Living on an island, she is most at home near the sea or halfway up a hill, with her dogs nearby, a strong sense of direction (occasionally misplaced), and what might politely be described as several pivots in life along the way.

Her connection to place runs deep; rugged coastlines, open oceans, volcanic islands and mountains are not just backdrops, but part of how she makes sense of the world.

She believes freedom should feel real, not theoretical, and tends to end her days with good food and a decent glass of Portuguese wine.

"You are allowed to outgrow expectations—and explore who you truly are."
